Brazilian influencer Alex Luan dos Santos Pereira, known as Valioso, has reportedly died in a car accident at age 20.
The content creator — who has more than 1 million followers on TikTok — was allegedly driving a speeding car with four other passengers on Saturday, October 4, Brazilian news site g1 reported.
The vehicle crashed into a tree on Padre Alfredo Street in front of Jardim da Saudade Cemetery in Jacobina, Brazil, and Valioso reportedly died on impact.
The outlet reported that the remaining passengers were recovered from the scene by emergency services and brought to Vicentina Goulart Regional Hospital. People reported that Valioso was on vacation when the incident occurred.
Valioso’s final TikTok before his death was shared on September 29, when he reshared a screenshot of text and had a dramatic face. The post has since amassed more than 19,000 comments, with users sharing their condolences.
Valioso’s death comes days after news broke that influencer Adair Mendes Dutra Junior reportedly died at age 31 after experiencing complications from a cosmetic procedure.
One month before Junior died, the influencer — who amassed more than 100,000 followers on Instagram — alleged that he had an infection after undergoing a cosmetic procedure months before by surgeon Fernando Garbi.
Junior alleged to Brazilian news network Feed TV that he sought out medical treatment at a local hospital over the infection and provided the outlets with videos of the procedure. In one clip, Junior allegedly had bruises and was swollen. He claimed at the time that a dermatologist was monitoring his condition.
Following Junior’s death, friend Gean Souza shared with Brazilian magazine Quem that the content creator developed an infection and “became ill, felt very short of breath and was taken to the nearest emergency room at a public hospital.”
Legal documents obtained by Brazilian news outlet Portal Leo Dias noted that Junior filed a request for investigation against Garbi with the 15th Police District of São Paulo. Before his death, he reportedly sued Garbi for six crimes, including illegal practice of medicine, fraudulent misrepresentation and serious bodily injury, per People.
A statement by Garbi’s lawyer denied that he had any “connection” to Junior’s death, alleging that claims suggesting otherwise were made “by people eager for brief moments of notoriety.”
“All legal measures, in the civil and criminal spheres, will be taken against the authors of the insults and slander, so that they respond, to the exact extent of their responsibilities, for the injuries perpetrated against Doctor Fernando,” the message, which was translated to English, read via Instagram on Sunday, October 5.
Garbi also denied to Portal Leo Dias in March that Junior’s alleged infection was related to the cosmetic procedure.
Before Junior’s death, he shared a final Instagram post reflecting on his life. “A record of how I feel today: at peace with my choices, strong in the face of battles, and increasingly true to my essence,” the caption read in August, translated to English. “Life is made of moments — and I choose to live mine with elegance and truth.”
