Taiwanese influencer Wang Weiqian has died following a five-year battle with lymphoma that she initially attributed to work fatigue. She was 28.

Weiqian’s death was confirmed in an Instagram statement signed by Huanmu Biotechnology Co. and posted on her personal page on Thursday, March 19.

The company noted in the announcement, which was translated into English, that Weiqian was the “person in charge of the company” before she “unfortunately passed away recently.”

Weiqian also founded the intimacy care brand Hermacy. A spokesperson for the company told the Daily Mail in a statement after her death, “As Ms. Wang was the core of our company’s operations, after careful consideration, the company has decided to officially cease operations.”

In addition to being a businesswoman, Weiqian was an influencer and content creator. She documented her journey with cancer after being diagnosed in 2021. (She dubbed herself a “cancer-fighting ambassador” in her Instagram bio.)

Weiqian gained attention from her more than 18,000 followers after revealing that she initially overlooked symptoms of pain in her armpit after thinking it was just fatigue from her job.

“One day, I suddenly experienced intense pain under my armpit. It was really sudden. I thought to myself, ‘I’m working so hard, I even strained my armpit!’ But the pain didn’t subside at all; in fact, it got worse,” she recalled in a March 2022 Instagram post, noting that her friends worried that she might have breast cancer.

Weiqian explained that after seeing a growth in her armpit that was getting bigger rapidly, she underwent tests on the spot.

“The ultrasound showed it was just a regular lymph node, but the shape was a bit strange. The doctor said I could continue testing if I wanted, but I thought, ‘Forget it, it’s not a big deal,’” she shared with her followers. “Just when I was about to give up, my dad insisted on getting a diagnosis. … This time, the ultrasound revealed not just one growth, but a whole cluster of lymphomas.”

While the exact date of Weiqian’s death has not been publicly shared, the influencer’s longtime boyfriend shared his final photo with her on March 16. Hyman Chang toasted to 11 years with Weiqian by sharing a picture of them together on their anniversary.

Weiqian, for her part, gushed about her relationship with Chang in March 2025 when they celebrated 10 years as a couple.

“People thought we’d likely break up within 10 days, or maybe 10 months at most. Yet, in the blink of an eye, we’ve now been together for 10 years,” she wrote in a post translated into English.

The content creator added, “I still vividly remember a post I shared during our first year together — It featured a lyric from a song by Jordan Chan: ‘I want to walk hand-in-hand with the very same arm, every single day.’ And that hand-in-hand walk has now lasted for 10 years.”
