Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won their last two games as they prepare to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road during Week 5 NFL action. After an 0-2 start, the two straight wins were much needed.

While there are still concerns that the Chiefs need to figure out, they’re once again winning.

Despite the 2-2 record and two straight wins, Kansas City does not look dominant. Mahomes and company have not looked like the team that has been a yearly Super Bowl contender in recent history.

With that being said, the Chiefs have received a very concerning warning about Mahomes moving into Week 5.

Bleacher Report analyst Brad Gagnon delivered a brutal reality for Kansas City. He doesn’t think Mahomes is the same quarterback that he once was and the Chiefs’ rushing attack is not doing him any favors. Gagnon believes that something has to give for Kansas City on the ground.

“It’s not a great sign that quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the team’s leading rusher, despite the fact Isiah Pacheco was active throughout September,” Gagnon wrote. “His longest rush this season is 12 yards, while Kareem Hunt’s is 11. Mahomes simply isn’t the quarterback he used to be, and he certainly doesn’t have the support he once had. The Chiefs will eventually need more from their backs to help Mahomes out.”

He makes a great point. If the Chiefs are unable to get more out of their running backs, Mahomes could be in store for a long season. Mahomes has looked dominant this season, but can he continue that without getting more help?

Through four games, the 30-year-old quarterback has completed 61.3 percent of his passes for 939 yards, seven touchdowns, and an interceptions. He has also run for 130 yards and two scores.

It’s possible that the longtime superstar quarterback could power the Kansas City offense to success. But, an NFL season is long. Mahomes would be facing a major uphill battle to be a one-man wrecking crew for the Chiefs.

Only time will tell what Kansas City is able to do moving forward. There is a chance the Chiefs could make a trade to improve the running back situation.

Hopefully, Mahomes can get more help offensively, whether that helps comes from an outside player or someone currently on the team stepping up and playing at a much higher level.
