Sunglasses can be tricky. You want something that flatters your face, doesn’t slide off your nose, and maybe — just maybe — makes you feel like a million bucks. But when designer shades come with a $500+ price tag and no one can tell unless they’re nose-to-nose with you, it’s fair to ask: is it really worth it? Especially when the internet is full of luxe-looking alternatives that cost less than your usual coffee shop order.

Case in point: Jennifer Lopez recently stepped out in a gilded pair of Bottega Veneta Gold Tone Aviators that scream money. They’re sleek, shiny and retail for around $550. But if you’re not quite ready to drop half a grand on sunglasses, we found a pair on Amazon that mimics the exact vibe for under $20.

While we can all dream about wearing actual Bottega — there’s something even more satisfying about looking like you spent a fortune when you absolutely did not. The Amazon pair features nearly identical oversized, semi-rimless gold frames with gradient lenses and a lightweight metal build. They even come with UV400 protection and solid hinges — so you’re not just getting the look, you’re getting function too.

As for sizing, they’re oversized without feeling cartoonish. And unlike some budget sunglasses that feel like they’ll snap after one toss in your tote, these are surprisingly sturdy. One shopper who owns both the designer pair and the Amazon version said the finish and feel of these are impressively similar — especially for a pair that costs 95% less. Another said they felt expensive and couldn’t believe the price when they put them on.

So if you’ve been eyeing J.Lo’s Bottegas but your bank account says “be serious,” this is your sign. Rich girl look on a recession budget? We love to see it!
