The LNP is likely to hold only three federal seats in the metropolitan Brisbane area after their election wipeout. It hasn’t been easy being the Greens either, though they will probably hold Ryan after losing their two other Brisbane-based seats.

And former Labor premier Peter Beattie says the effectiveness of Anthony Albanese’s positive campaigning was reflected in the ALP’s vote, particularly in Queensland where even Peter Dutton lost his seat. He argues the PM should run again next election, having cemented himself in The Lodge and ended the leadership instability of the Rudd-Gillard years.

Star executive chef Ben O’Donoghue has parted ways with The 203, taking to social media to announce he’d been made redundant from the Fortitude Valley steakhouse.
