A man’s disastrous attempt at bowling has sparked laughter across social media.

User @lanzlanzlanz_ shared footage of the incident on TikTok, and the video has now been viewed more than 26 million times.

It opens with a man approaching the lane while clutching a bowling ball, but as he goes to release it, his fingers release it too late, sending the ball flying into the TV screen hanging above the adjacent lane and leaving it clearly broken.

“This bowling stuff is easy,” he wrote in the caption.

TikTok commenters flocked to the comments to weigh in, with the Microsoft Developer account quipping, “Have you tried turning it off and back on?”

Another joked, “Panicked then realized it’s not my problem,” while one commenter noted, “The way I would’ve disappeared outta there…”

Several users offered up some bowling advice, including one who pointed out, “YOU HAVE TO LET GO OF THE BALL.”

Viral Fails

This isn’t the first time footage of a ‘fail’ has attracted online attention.

One previous Newsweek story reported a viral TikTok video that showed an “all-around athlete” falling off a bike in a comically spectacular manner, leaving social media viewers in tears of laughter.

The clip shows a man wearing a cycling leotard bodysuit and cycling shoes with cleats while straddling a bike in a backyard.

Seconds later, however, he crashes onto the ground while dismounting the bike, with his hand breaking a wooden panel off a fence on his way down.

A Painful Lesson

Another Newsweek story covered a dad failing the viral “upside-down lifting” TikTok trend, which usually involves one person lifting another upside down, often as part of a playful or fitness-related stunt.

In this case, a woman’s boyfriend attempted the challenge with her dad, but they quickly became a viral sensation for all the wrong—yet hilarious—reasons.

During the lift, her dad’s legs flew into the air, causing both men to topple to the ground in a heap. Thankfully, neither was hurt, and they were able to laugh it off.

Newsweek has reached out to @lanzlanzlanz_ for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
