Nobody Wants This star Jackie Tohn is hosting an event benefiting MaeDay Rescue — and she’s getting help from fellow famous faces including Nikki Glaser, Chelsea Peretti and more.

MaeDay Rescue organized Paws for Comedy: A Charity Comedy Show, which takes place August 2 in Los Angeles. In addition to Tohn, 44, who is hosting the philanthropic event, there is a star-studded lineup of comedians planned including Glaser, 41, Peretti, 47, Andy Richter, Heather Pasternak, Jessica Keenan and Mo Welch.

Paws for Comedy will feature stand-up performances, a DJ set by Moby and more surprises. According to the press release, the event “will be a memorable evening aimed to uplift and inspire the animal community, while also raising awareness and essential funds for MaeDay’s mission and core values.”

All funds raised will benefit spay and neuter medical costs, foster costs and extra goodies to spoil the MaeDay foster animals as they await their forever homes. Paws for Comedy: A Charity Comedy Show will take place from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. at the Creature Comforts Brewery in Los Angeles. Attendees can look forward to curated vegan bites, caricatures, flash tattoos, a pet communicator and more.

“I have adopted all of my dogs from MaeDay Rescue and I’m so excited to support their incredible work while also enjoying a night of comedy and fun,” Glaser said in a statement about the upcoming event.

Glaser previously opened up about her love for MaeDay Rescue.

“I am so honored to support MaeDay Rescue. I have three dogs from MaeDay.
You’ve got to go to their site to see any of the adorable dogs that MaeDay has available,” she said in a June video for the rescue. “Like Mona, a 10-year-old and 8-pound sassy, spunky queen. This bitch carries herself like an entrepreneur that invested early in Google. Don’t let the senior title fool you because Mona is quicker on her feet than Connor McDavid.”

She continued:
”Getting a senior dog is honestly the kindest thing you can do and they deserve love. They’ve had a hard and long life. Maybe they’ve been abandoned or lost their forever home. They need it more than any other dogs — and you truly will be a hero.”

MaeDay Rescue is an organization founded by Natalie Garcia in 2010. Its mission is dedicated to “saving animals and finding them loving forever homes throughout greater Los Angeles. As animal shelters continue to be inundated by overcrowding and rising euthanasia rates, MaeDay’s foster-based rescue program gives animals a second chance at life.”
