Off camera, everything might not be well for the ‘Off Campus’ star Mika Abdalla.
Per recent reports, the 26-year-old actress and her fiancé, “Supercool” actor Jake Short, have ended their engagement after five years. A representative for Abdalla shared with Us Weekly on Monday that the pair are no longer together.
“Due to recent interest in Mika’s personal life it would feel remiss to not address that her and Jake are no longer together,” the rep shared. “They continue to support each other and remain on friendly terms, and kindly ask for privacy and respect.”

Abdalla met Short while filming their 2022 teen comedy, “Sex Appeal.”
After four years of a dating, the pair’s engagement was confirmed by Short’s manager Brian Medavoy on social media.
In an Instagram post in May 2026, Medavoy wrote: “An awesome day yesterday celebrating the next chapter for my longtime client, Jake Short and his fiance Mika Abdalla. From set to real life – watching your journey has been a joy. Here’s to forever.”
A year later, it came into news that Abdalla and Short have broken up. They have, however, decided to remain on “friendly terms” as per the actress’ representative.
Who Is Jake Short?
Short is an American actor who has starred in multiple Disney projects, including “A.N.T. Farm” (2011–2014), “Mighty Med” (2013–2015) and “Lab Rats: Elite Force.”
In 2020, the 29-year-old actor starred in the British comedy “The First Team” before sharing the screen with Abdalla in their 2022 film.
In 2022, he also started hosting a podcast with Bradley Steven Perry titled “Hit the Brake.” However, the podcast wrapped up within a year in 2023.
Mika Abdalla’s Upcoming Projects
Abdalla recently took the internet by storm through her portrayal of Allie Hayes in the Amazon Prime Video series “Off Campus” based on Elle Kennedy’s novels.
While the first season was based mostly on the events of Kennedy’s “The Deal,” focusing on the love story between Hannah Wells and Garrett Graham, it was confirmed in May that the second season would follow Allie’s romance with Dean di Laurentis (Stephen Kalyn), based on “The Score.”
Filming for the second season has reportedly commenced on June 1, and is expected to continue till September.
Amazon confirmed Allie and Dean’s season through an Instagram teaser in late May.
