Taylor Swift’s first call after recording her “New Heights” podcast episode was to Brittany Mahomes.

“I knew before y’all did just because they called me after the podcast was done,” Patrick, 29, said during a press conference at the Kansas City Chiefs training camp on Wednesday, August 13. “They didn’t call me, they called Brittany, and I was in the back of the FaceTime.”

Patrick did say he was “surprised” by Swift’s decision to appear on Travis and Jason Kelce’s show.

“I’m obviously super excited. Just knowing Taylor and seeing the process from just a little bit closer of how she makes the albums,” Patrick continued. “It’s going to be amazing because of how much work she puts into it. What better place to announce it than [the] ‘New Heights’ podcast?”

Rumors started swirling earlier this week that Swift, 35, was going to appear on Wednesday’s episode of “New Heights.” Her appearance was confirmed on Monday, August 11, with Swift announcing her upcoming album The Life of Showgirl just hours later.

Patrick said that Swift will get a chance to “be herself” on the podcast episode and “showcase who she is” while discussing the new record.

“I think people are going to be really excited to watch it tonight,” Patrick continued. “I haven’t seen it yet. I’ve seen a little bit of the clips just like everybody else, but I’ll be tuned in tonight, I think it’s 7 Eastern. I’ll be able to have something to watch here on this night off that I have.”

Patrick spoke about the episode during his press conference just as another “New Heights” clip dropped on Wednesday. The podcast preview featured Jason, 37, giving Swift a major — and rather animated — introduction to the show.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center broke down Swift’s accomplishments, shouting out her 149 Eras Tour shows and 14 Grammy Awards. He also made reference to Swift referring to boyfriend Travis as “that guy on the Chiefs.”

“Are you ready for it?” Jason yelled. “Making her podcasting debut, the most-requested guest in the history of shows, Taylor Swift.”

Swift joked that Jason’s “soul has left his body” before thanking him for the kind words.

“Thank you for screaming for, like, 47 seconds for me. That was so nice. That was so sweet. Thanks for having me on my favorite podcast,” she said. “As we all know, you guys have a lot of male sports fans that listen to your podcast. And I think we all know that if there’s one thing male sports fans want to see in their spaces and on their screens — it’s more of me.”
