The Baltimore Ravens host the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football to close out Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season, and it is set to be another great matchup. Both teams’ quarterbacks were tied for the most touchdowns thrown this season (6) through two weeks, and both high-flying offenses are ready to show out in primetime.
The Lions are coming off an absolute thrashing of the rival Chicago Bears, beating them 52-21 in a game that was just 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.
Goff leads the league in completion percentage with an astounding 80.6 percent and will look to do some damage to a Ravens defense that gave up the fourth-most yards in football going into Week 3.
Baltimore is coming off a divisional thrashing of their own, beating the Cleveland Browns 41-17 last week. After a blown 15-point lead to the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, the Ravens seem to have made the necessary adjustments and once again looked like the AFC powerhouse that was promised this offseason.
Which contender will move to 2-1 in the third installment of Monday Night Football this week? The staff at Newsweek Sports has some insight.
Gabe Smallson: I was quick to discredit the Lions after their Week 1 showing in Green Bay, but any time a team can put up 52 on a divisional rival in response to a loss, I am impressed. I am more impressed, however, by how good Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has looked, tossing a league-high 11.54 yards gained per pass attempt without any picks. Running back Derrick Henry is steamrolling to 6.6 yards per carry through two weeks, which I think will ultimately be too much for Detroit to stop.
Prediction: Ravens 34, Lions 24
Ricardo Sandoval: The Ravens have been dominant against NFC teams ever since two-time MVP Lamar Jackson has been under center for them, recording a 24-4 record. I don’t expect that to change Monday night, although they will face off against an elite Lions team. Still, with the home crowd on the Ravens’ side, they will come out on top in this one.
Ravens 27, Lions 23
Valentina Martinez: The Ravens and Lions clash on Monday Night Football in a highly anticipated matchup. While both teams are Super Bowl contenders, Lamar Jackson will put together another masterclass performance against Detroit.
Prediction: Ravens 27, Lions 21
Noah Camras: The Ravens and Lions should come through with a high-scoring affair between two of the league’s highest-powered offenses. This game will be back and forth, with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry running all over the Lions and Detroit using their array of weapons to keep the Ravens defense off balance. In the end, the home team will prevail in what turns out to be a Monday Night Football classic.
Prediction: Ravens 31, Lions 30
Aaron Coloma: Both the Lions and Ravens came back from crushing Week 1 losses in Week 2, beating up on back-of-the-pack teams to get their momentum flowing again. The Ravens have scored 40 or more points in both of their games this season, and I think their high-powered offense will be a little too much for the Lions to handle.
Prediction: Ravens 27, Lions 20
Nelson Espinal: The Ravens should be 2-0, but they sit at 1-1 after a bounce back win against the Browns. The Lions were manhandled by the Packers at Lambeau Field, but they beat the brakes off of the Bears. By doing some quick NFL math, the Ravens should win since they beat the Browns while the Lions lost to the Packers, who lost on Sunday to the Browns.
Prediction: Ravens 34, Lions 20
