Sam Leavitt is on a nationwide tour to see where he will sign for 2026 in the ever-changing transfer portal, but he’s not the only star QB looking for a new program.
Missouri’s Beau Pribula is regarded as one of the best quarterbacks remaining in the transfer portal with a week remaining before it closes. He has set up his next visit to an SEC school that just hosted the former Sun Devil.
The Tennessee Volunteers are aggressive in the QB market and just hosted Leavitt for multiple days, but no deal was reached. While that doesn’t exclude Tennessee from ultimately landing the former College Football Playoff signal caller, they’re keeping their options open by considering a transition to Pribula.
Why does Tennessee feel like they’re out on Leavitt and need to pivot quickly?
It was announced on Friday that Leavitt would soon be touching down in Miami to meet with the Hurricanes, who will play at their home stadium in the upcoming national title game against the winner of Indiana-Oregon.

Maimi has a golden track record with transfer QBs, first helping develop Cam Ward into a No. 1 overall pick in the NFL and now, with Carson Beck, doing what he couldn’t do at Georgia last year: making the CFP championship game.
Although not as highly touted as Leavitt, Pribula is still a player who can be a game-changer under center for a program. A former Penn State recruit, he transferred to Missouri last season. He put up over 2,000 total scrimmage yards with 17 touchdowns in only 10 games due to injury.
The quarterback market in the transfer window continues to take new turns every day, as five-star freshman Husan Longstreet left USC on Thursday in a stunning decision.
At the moment, the Volunteers rank below the top 50 teams in their transfer portal efforts, per On3. A pickup of Pribula would be a mighty step forward in improving a team that had a relatively down year after the highs they reached in 2024 by making the CFP.
The transfer portal officially closes on Jan. 16, 2026.
