Chilling security camera footage has been released of the moment two men gained entry at a Gold Coast house where a man was shot in the elbow before dawn on Tuesday.
In the footage, two men with their faces partially covered walk up to the front door of the home on Macquarie Avenue in Molendinar.
One man crouches down and picks up a handful of grass and dirt, then attempts to obscure the camera with it.
Both men are then seen walking into the home.
A loud bang was reported at the home about 4.30am.
A 38-year-old Yarrabilba man was shot in the elbow during the incident.
Police said the two men fled the scene immediately after the shot was fired.
The wounded man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
Police believe the incident was targeted and there was no ongoing threat to the wider community.
