A man was pinned to a rock wall by a truck alongside a motorway north of Sydney in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident occurred after three cars were involved in a crash on the M1 at Mooney Mooney about 4am and another car stopped to lend assistance.
Following the car crash, two people who were standing on the road were struck by a large truck driving past, police said.
One man was knocked down, and the fourth was pinned by his legs against a rock wall.
A rescue helicopter, paramedics, firefighters and police rushed to the scene.
Two people who were inside the car that had stopped to help suffered minor injuries.

Two men have now been transported to hospital – one with leg injuries. The man driving the truck is being treated for a hand injury.
One of three southbound lanes was closed, but had reopened by 7.30am on Saturday.
