A former Texas substitute teacher and her boyfriend have been arrested for having inappropriate sexual contact with a child and possession of child porn.

Madison Paige Jones, 30, was hit with one charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child, two counts of indecency with a child sexual contact, and one count of possession of child pornography following her arrest in Midlothian on Dec. 19, police said.

She was booked into the Ellis County Jail with a $90,000 bond.

Police said that Jones, who substituted for the Midlothian Independent School District, had not committed the alleged crimes at district schools or involving any district students.

In the past year, Jones subbed four times in the Midlothian Independent School District, including one day at Heritage High School on Nov. 19 and three days at Baxter Elementary on Oct. 28, Oct. 29, and Nov. 3, the district said.

The district said it assured families in a letter that it no longer employed Jones after learning of her alleged crimes.

“Our district process for monitoring employee criminal history functioned as intended, and we were notified quickly by the DPS,” Midlothian ISD told CBS News.

“The substitute teacher is no longer employed by MISD, and the district followed its required reporting procedures with the Texas Education Agency.”

Following Jones’s arrest, a second suspect, 37-year-old Zackery Dondlinger, was arrested in connection with the case, Midlothian Police shared in their statement.

Dondlinger was nabbed by authorities in Loving County on Dec. 23 and charged with sexual performance by a child.

He is currently being held at the Winkler County Detention Center awaiting arraignment, police said.

Police said Jones and Dondlinger were in a dating relationship, CBS News reported.

Authorities had not released details about the suspects’ alleged crimes.

The case remains under investigation, police said.

The Midlothian Police Department credited the Ellis County Children’s Advocacy Center, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the Loving County Sheriff’s Office with helping locate and apprehend Dondlinger.

Anyone with additional tips should contact Midlothian Police Detective Dawson Frazer at 469-672-0056 or the department at 972-775-3333.
