The New York Jets’ season is off to quite the unfortunate start.
A tough 34-32 Week 1 loss rolled over to Week 2 and New York was drummed by its division rival, the Buffalo Bills, to the tune of 30-10. It was a poor performance all the way around, and these three players were disappointing throughout the game.
Justin Fields, QB
Fields had a standout performance in Week 1, and it was looking like he may have found the perfect offense for his play style. Week 2 went the complete opposite direction, and it ended with an injury.
Prior to Fields’ injury, he completed just three of 11 passes for 11 yards. He had an embarrassing QBR of 1.1 and passer rating of just 39.6. Fields also fumbled twice, losing one of them and recovering the other. He left the game due to a concussion and his status for next week will be monitored throughout the week.
Breece Hall, RB
Along with Fields, Hall had an outstanding performance last week, but Sunday was much different. Hall finished with just 29 rushing yards on 10 carries, his lowest rushing yards in a game since Week 5 last season.
His efforts in the receiving game weren’t much better, as he added just two catches for nine yards. It was a demoralizing effort from Hall, and it will be hard for the Jets to win games with just 36 total yards from their star running back.
Quinnen Williams, DL
The Jets’ $96 million man was almost nowhere to be found on Sunday. He collected just two tackles, one of which came for a loss of yards. It was a down performance after five tackles, one sack and a forced fumble in Week 1.
