The new York Giants are perhaps the team best positioned to improve in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL draft.
There are five other teams with multiple first-round picks — the New York Jets (No. 2 and 16 overall), Cleveland Browns (No. 6 and 4 overall), Kansas City Chiefs (No. 9 and 29 overall), Dallas Cowboys (No. 12 and 20 overall) and Miami Dolphins (No. 11 and 30 overall) — but the Giants are the only team with multiple too-10 picks.
New York already owned the No. 5 overall pick, and it added the 10th overall selection on Saturday after trading Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals.
And according to The Ringer’s Todd McShay, the Giants have their eyes on two of the draft’s premier prospects.
“NYG now own 1/5 of the top-10 picks in Thursday’s first round of the NFL draft. This gets Harbaugh his defensive captain and chess piece (LB Styles is what I’m hearing but don’t rule out DS Downs). And it gets Dart the perimeter weapon he needs opposite Nabers. I’m hearing Jordyn Tyson is [their] guy!” McShay tweeted.
Sonny Styles has seen draft stock soar in recent weeks. The Dallas Cowboys have also been rumored to be eyeing a trade up for Styles, who totaled 83 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three passes defended, a forced fumble, and an interception for Ohio State last season.
New York could use the No. 5 pick on Styles to replace Bobby Okereke who left in free agency, and to keep him away from the Cowboys. The team could then use the 10th pick on a wide receiver like Tyson, Carnell Tate, or USC’s Makai Lemon.
Tyson dazzled teams during his pro day on Saturday, and many analysts have him ranked as the top wide receiver in the draft class. Tyson would give Jaxson Dart two dynamic WRs on the outside along with tight end Theo Johnson and running backs Cam Skattebo and Tyrone Tracy.
