Walmart shoppers are being urged to check several products sold in stores and online after federal safety regulators issued multiple recalls and consumer warnings involving risks ranging from falls and burns to vehicle safety hazards.
The recalls, announced in April by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affect exercise equipment, portable generators, and infant car seats that were sold through Walmart’s physical stores, Walmart.com, or third‑party online marketplaces.
Sperax Walking Pads and Treadmills
The CPSC has warned consumers to immediately stop using Sperax walking pads and compact treadmills, which were sold online through Walmart.com and other e‑commerce platforms.
According to the CPSC notice, the affected models—Pro, Q1, RM‑01, and RM‑02—pose serious fall, burn, and fire hazards, because the machines can unexpectedly change speeds or stop abruptly, causing users to lose their balance.
The CPSC said it has received 201 reports of uncontrollable speeds and sudden stops, resulting in at least 66 falls or injuries, including a concussion that required medical care. In addition, there have been 573 reports of overheating, fires, or other thermal incidents, including minor burns.
The Chinese importer, Sperax, has refused to agree to a recall, prompting the CPSC to issue a direct consumer warning. Customers are advised not to sell or give away the products and to dispose of them immediately.
Generac Portable Generators
In a separate action, the CPSC announced a recall of approximately 149,400 Generac portable generators because of a fuel leak defect that could lead to fires or severe burns.
The generators were sold at Sam’s Club and Samsclub.com, and other major retailers, including Home Depot and Lowe’s, between May 2025 and February 2026.
The recall affects several models, including:
- GP3600
- GP4000DF
- GP6500
- GP6500E
- GP6500EDF
- GP6700EDF
- GP8000E
- GP9200E
- GP9500ETF
According to the CPSC, fuel can leak from the carburetor when the generator is first filled with gasoline, creating a risk of serious injury or death.
Generac has received 114 reports of fuel leaks, though no injuries have been reported.
Customers are urged to stop using the generators and check their model and serial numbers.
Graco Infant Car Seats
The NHTSA has also issued a recall affecting approximately 5,126 Graco rear‑facing infant car seats, including SnugRide Turn & Slide models and related travel systems sold at Walmart stores and online. The affected seats were manufactured between December 1, 2025, and March 27, 2026.
The recall applies to multiple model numbers, with 100 percent of the affected production run included. While no injuries have been reported, the recall was issued due to a potential defect in the child restraint system that could compromise safety.
Graco is required to notify customers and provide a remedy. Parents and caregivers are advised to check model numbers and manufacturing dates and to follow instructions from Graco or NHTSA on repairs or replacements.
What Walmart Customers Should Do
Consumers who purchased any of the affected items are advised to stop using the recalled products immediately, verify the model numbers, and follow the recall instructions provided by manufacturers or federal regulators.
