“WrestleMania 42” is closing in, but WWE seemingly already has plans for Gunther beyond the April PLE.

“The Ring General” is set to collide with Seth Rollins at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for WWE’s biggest annual show. Gunther got involved in Rollins’ storyline feud with Paul Heyman and The Vision. While most expected Rollins to share the ring with Bron Breakker at “WrestleMania 42,” Gunther got the nod reportedly due to WWE officials being adamant about having him in a prominent role at the event.

While the match with Rollins is marquee, it appears the “Career Killer” could also have his sights set on a “Beast.”

Seeds Planted for Gunther vs. Brock Lesnar?

During a backstage segment on “Monday Night Raw,” Heyman thanked Gunther for agreeing to face Rollins at “WrestleMania 42.” Gunther initially accepted Heyman’s gratitude before telling “The Oracle” that he needs far more than a simple “thank you.”

The tension strongly hints at a future clash between “The Ring General” and Brock Lesnar. In recent months, Lesnar has realigned with Heyman, and he has been loosely affiliated with The Vision. Gunther has been on a run of sending aging professional wrestling stars out of WWE on a loss, and perhaps he can add Lesnar’s name to the list at some point in 2026.

Lesnar is scheduled to clash with rising star Oba Femi at “WrestleMania 42.” Regardless of the outcome, “The Beast” could target Gunther going into “SummerSlam,” which will be held in Minneapolis, where Lesnar had a decorated NCAA wrestling run. Some believe that it could mark the final time Lesnar steps inside a WWE ring, but that has not been confirmed at this time.
