Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty has been projected to be selected as high as No. 6 overall, which is the pick held by the Raiders. Las Vegas is viewed as Jeanty’s ideal landing spot, but not unless a team happens to snag him before they’re on the clock.

In NFL Media’s Gennaro Filice’s latest mock draft, that’s how it unfolds. The Raiders are unable to take him, as Jeanty goes one pick before to the Jaguars.

“Feels like a nice place to insert Jeanty, who just so happens to be a Jacksonville native. Trevor Lawrence has been supported by a top-20 ground game once, and in that 2022 season, he earned his lone Pro Bowl nod while the Jaguars took the AFC South and made noise in the playoffs. Seems relevant,” Filice wrote.

The Jaguars have Travis Etienne Jr., but he was inefficient this past season. Tank Bigsby showed out in 2024, but it’s unlikely he’s more than a No. 2 back. Jeanty would provide a huge spark as new head coach Liam Coen looks to get the necessary pieces for his offense.

While Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham would be a solid addition to Jacksonville, there’s no denying that quarterback Trevor Lawrence would love to have an offensive playmaker to take some of the load off.

Jeanty finished with 4,769 yards on 750 carries (6.4 yards per carry) during his college career. Not only would he be a threat on the ground, but in the passing game. He caught 80 passes for 862 yards (10.8 yards per reception) and six touchdowns throughout three seasons for the Broncos.
