Three people were shot near the route of the West Indian Day Parade in Brooklyn on Monday afternoon, adding to the day’s bloodshed, law-enforcement sources said.
The first shooting happened around 4 p.m. near 798 Nostrand Ave. in Crown Heights, when a 24-year-old man took a bullet to the butt, according to sources.
“There were a bunch of people fighting at the top of the block. … And then all of the sudden, you hear, ‘Pop, pop,’” said a witness named Edward.
The wounded man was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, according to sources.
Pictures showed cops taking someone into custody at the scene.
Another man and a woman were then shot in a separate incident at the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, also in Crown Heights, just a little after 4 p.m, sources said.
The 37-year-old woman was blasted in the leg, while the 19-year-old man was grazed by bullets on both of his legs, law-enforcement sources said.
The two were transported to Kings County hospital in stable condition, sources said.
Cops are still looking for the shooter in the second blasting, according to sources.
The bullets flew as three people were stabbed and two others slashed hours earlier, just before the parade was to start, near Carroll Street and Utica Avenue in the neighborhood.
