FBI agent Alice Black (Emmy Rossum) is working her first serial killer case, and it’s a doozy. A mysterious woman known only as Catherine (Lola Pettigrew) is preying on people throughout New York City. Using several disguises, she seduces and then kills her victims, who are all men and of a certain age. Alice believes the murders are all connected, but how? Alice knows that if she finds the answer to that question, she will find her killer.
But first, she has to get her s*** together, since she’s a hot mess. Yes, Furious is yet another crime-thriller about a cop with a drinking problem and a stubborn case of PTSD, but the series feels fresh and exciting. That’s due to creator Elizabeth Meriwether, who manages to avoid most cliches by constantly surprising you with plot twists and character quirks, and Rossum, who does her best work since Shameless.
Furious debuts its first three episodes on July 27. Each subsequent episode will be released weekly.
