Looking ahead to summer 2025, Hulu has an edge on some of its rival streamers. Hulu doesn’t make as many original movies as it used to, but its lineup of shows is second to none.

It’s worth noting that most of Hulu’s best projects in the months ahead come from 20th Century Studios and FX. Disney purchased those entertainment assets in 2019, and that deal is still paying dividends in 2025.

Hulu’s lineup for the next three months includes two of its signature shows, as well as the return of an animated classic.

However, the Watch With Us team would be remiss if we failed to note that both the Alien and Predator franchises have a presence among the five most anticipated Hulu movies and shows of summer 2025.

5. ‘King of the Hill’ Season 14

King of the Hill Season 14 | Credit Sequence Reveal | Hulu

A lot of animated revival shows have found success, including Hulu’s Futurama. But this summer, the Hill family is returning to Arlen, Texas, a mere 16 years after King of the Hill came to an end. Series co-creator Mike Judge is once again voicing Hank Hill and Boomhauer, with Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill and Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill.

The new opening credits sequence above hints at some of the changes that happened during the hiatus, including Hank and Peggy moving to Saudi Arabia for a job that may set up their retirement. There’s some culture shock ahead when they come home to Arlen, and Bobby has since grown up and become a professional chef. King of the Hill was one of the best animated sitcoms of its era, and we’re eager to see if the revival will live up to that legacy.

King of the Hill season 14 will stream on Hulu on August 4.

4. ‘Predator: Killer of Killers’

In 2022, the Hulu original movie Prey revitalized the Predator franchise with a fresh take on the story. While the next live-action movie, Predator: Badlands, is coming to theaters later this year, Hulu is debuting a new animated film from the director of Prey, Dan Trachtenberg, and his co-writer and co-director, Micho Robert Rutare.

Predator: Killer of Killers is a very R-rated take on the franchise that explores Predator encounters with a World War II pilot, Vikings, and even warring ninja and samurai. Now that’s our idea of a good time!

Predator: Killer of Killers will stream on Hulu on June 6.

3. ‘The Bear’ Season 4

Although The Bear is ostensibly supposed to be a comedy, it’s also a very dramatic series that ranks among the most intense on TV. Season 4 finds Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), Richie Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and the rest of the Bear’s staff facing a financial crisis. And if they can’t turn it around, the Bear will have to be closed for good.

Every episode of season 4 is dropping on the same day, and the theme of this year’s episodes appears to be Carmy’s realization that he’s not alone in his struggle to keep The Bear alive. His staff members may have his back, but is that enough to help Carmy and save the restaurant?

The Bear season 4 will stream on Hulu on June 25.

2. ‘Alien: Earth’

In the nearly five decades since Alien premiered in theaters, the xenomorphs have never made to Earth … until now. Alien: Earth is the creation of Noah Hawley, the showrunner behind FX’s Fargo and Legion.

Story details are still largely under wraps, but the cast includes Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin and Essie Davis.

Alien: Earth will premiere on Hulu on August 12.

1. ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 5

Only Murders in the Building traditionally returns to Hulu at the end of August, and we’re hoping that trend continues this year. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez will all be back as the unlikely trio of true crime podcasters who always seem to be entangled in murder investigations.

The show has a reputation for attracting A-list guest stars, and season 5 is no exception. This year’s incoming cast members include Keegan-Michael Key, Logan Lerman, Beanie Feldstein, Renée Zellweger and Christoph Waltz. If previous seasons are any indication, we can’t guarantee that their characters will survive. But it should be fun to see them on the show.

Only Murders in the Building season 5 doesn’t currently have a premiere date on Hulu.
