If you have the sort of genetics that keep your hair color, we don’t even want to hear about it, because for the rest of us (if we aren’t just losing it altogether) it’s a choice between living with it an doing something about it. And while some celebrities proudly embrace their “wisdom strands,” Hollywood doesn’t usually go easy on signs of age.

So which celebrities are going gray — and what products are they using for touchups? You’d be surprised who we found out isn’t going to a salon, but using good old Clairol or L’Oréal in the bathroom at home. Some of them you probably didn’t realize they were even going gray in the first place. BSo take a look below at which celebrities are going gray, and how they’re fighting it.

How 8 Celebrities Are Fighting Gray Hair

1. Drew Barrymore: Actor and talkshow host Drew Barrymore stays camera-ready with L’Oréal Magic Root Cover-Up Concealer Spray. She says that while searching for a quick fix for her gray roots, “it’s changed her life.” She uses it alongside dry shampoo, and she feels more confident than ever.

2. Eva Longoria: Yep, even Desperate Housewives stars use box dye to fend off her grays. Eva Longoria colored her hair using L’Oréal Paris Dye in the shade 4 Dark Brown. She even used her iPhone to film herself during the dying process, too.

3. Jennifer Lopez: Even beauty queens like J.Lo need a root touchup every so often. Though it’s unclear if she truly has grays or simply dyes her hair, at 55 years old we can take a guess. She uses ColorWow’s Root Coverup to keep her roots in check, so it goes without saying we’re dying to try it ourselves.

4. Travis Kelce: Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce touches up his grays with Rewind It 10 in Light Brown in order to look game day-ready. The brand was co-founded by rapper Fat Joe, and has featured Kelce on the box.

5. Marisa Tomei: My Cousin Vinny star Marisa Tomei is eternally gorgeous — but she, too, deals with gray hairs. She prefers to use Style Edit’s Root Cover Up Stick, and she does so by simply dotting it along her hairline.

6. Christie Brinkley: At 71 years old, it’s no surprise classic supermodel Christie Brinkley is fighting off grays with Rita Hazan’s Root Concealer Touch Up Spray. She mixes blonde and dark blonde for her rich blonde with touches of gold.

7. Stacey Solomon: English talkshow host Stacey Solomon keeps her blondes and fends off grays the old-fashioned way! She uses L’Oréal Paris Préférence box dye.

“It’s definitely my favourite hair dye that I’ve ever used,” she told The Daily Mail. “I’ve used it a million times over!”

8. Kyle Richards: Kyle Richards can’t always make it to the salon as soon as her roots start showing. So when she needs to cover up grays last minute, she uses Clairol’s Root Touch-Up Permanent Hair Color Kit. She especially relied on it during the 2020 COVID-19 lockdowns, which is something we can all relate to.

How Can I Approach Going Gray From Home?

If you aren’t willing to fix your grays at a salon, there are a few types of products you can use. Root sprays and concealer pencils provide quick touch-ups. You can simply color match it to the rest of your hair and dot it along your hairline. Box dyes are a more permanent fix. On most hair, they tend to last six to eight weeks, however that may vary.
