Aaron Rodgers remains a free agent as the 2025 NFL season gets closer. While he’s still eligible to sign wherever he’d like, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the clear favorite to land his services.

All offseason long, the Steelers have been connected to Rodgers. He has flown to visit the team in Pittsburgh and has worked out with a throwing session alongside DK Metcalf.

Now, Rodgers has hinted even more that he’ll be playing for the Steelers in 2025.

When asked if he’d ever consider signing with the Chicago Bears, Rodgers made it clear that he would not. However, he hinted that there’s a team that might play the Bears in Chicago this season, which Pittsburgh does in Week 12.

Steelers Receive Aaron Rodgers Prediction From Packers’ Matt LaFleur

“I believe there’s a team that might play in Chicago this year, a road trip,” he said. “I love Chicago though, way more than they love me. It’s been a great relationship, all one way.”

Of course, Rodgers is referring to his tenure with the Green Bay Packers. He has a career 26-5 record against the Bears, including two wins over Chicago in the playoffs.

Rodgers had a rough two years with the New York Jets. He tore his Achilles on the first possession of the 2023 season. In 2024, the team simply did not live up to expectations, although that was not his fault.

Throughout the 2024 season, Rodgers completed 63 percent of his pass attempts for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Those numbers may not be the kind of production that he put up during his prime, but they were still very good.

Vikings Receive New Aaron Rodgers Update

If Rodgers does sign with the Steelers, he would undoubtedly have the game against the Bears on Nov. 23 circled on his calendar. That matchup could very well be his last time facing the team that he dominated for so many years.

All of that will hinge on Rodgers putting ink on a contract with Pittsburgh. It still seems very likely that he will do so, especially after this hint, but the deal still must be signed.

Expect to hear more news about Rodgers and his future soon. Everything is pointing towards him getting a deal done and ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter also shared his belief that a deal could get done before the Steelers’ mandatory minicamp that starts on June 10.
