The Pittsburgh Steelers ended their regular season in dramatic fashion, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 26–24 after Baltimore missed a last-second field goal, clinching the AFC North title and securing a playoff berth.

This marks quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ first playoff appearance since 2022 and his first as a member of the Steelers—something that has been a regular occurrence for head coach Mike Tomlin, who still faces pressure, having not won a first-round playoff game since the 2016 season.

Ahead of Monday night’s playoff matchup against the Houston Texans, Rodgers had strong words about Tomlin, making it clear that both men share the same mindset: neither is concerned with outside noise.

Mike [Tomlin] has had an incredible career as a HC to go that long and never have losing season,” Rodgers said. “It’s unbelievable. There’s always going to be something. … Mike T is probably like me. Doesn’t give a whole lot of shit about any of those comments.”

Rodgers also spoke about the current state of the Steelers, who have won four of their last five games heading into Monday night. The team will welcome back wide receiver DK Metcalf, who served a two-game suspension following an altercation with a Detroit Lions fan.

“It feels good to shut all those comments down. Clean the slate—now anybody can make a run. It’s the hottest team. We’ve won four of five. We’re playing a lot better football than we were earlier in the season. I like our chances,” Rodgers said.
