Abby Hensel’s husband, Josh Bowling, is clearing the air when it comes to a TikTok account posting photos and reported updates about his family.

Bowling insisted to People on Saturday, September 6, that the social media account claiming to be his wife’s is fake. He is speaking out after Abby and her conjoined twin sister, Brittany, both 35, were spotted carrying a newborn baby while running errands last month. (The sisters were also seen carrying a baby in a car seat several weeks later.)

Although the TikTok account in question shared the caption, “Blessed,” alongside paparazzi photos of Abby and Brittany with a baby on August 30, Bowling said it is “not owned by my wife.” (Us Weekly did reference the social media post but has since amended our previous story.)

He said that while he understands “the extreme interest” in whether his family has welcomed a child into their lives, he does not wish to provide comment on the matter.

“We’re unsure who exactly runs it,” Bowling said of the fake account. “But I believe [it’s run by] someone who [downloaded] a significant amount of photos from my mother’s [Facebook] account.”

He went on to share that Abby and Brittany have never had a TikTok account and that they all made their individual Facebook accounts private a long time ago. He explained that is why the TikTok impersonator account only posts images that are already available to the public.

“They […] started using photos available to the media and everyone else. I can definitely guarantee that it’s not us,” Bowling said, noting that the account has been “drawing significant media attention we’re not wanting.”

He continued, “At first, we just assumed it was someone trying to make a quick buck or something, so it wasn’t worth saying anything. After [the] media believed [it] to actually be us, I knew I had to say something.”

Abby and Brittany rose to fame after appearing in three documentaries, Joined for Life, Joined at Birth and Joined for Life: Abby & Brittany Turn 16 in 2002, 2003 and 2006, respectively. They are dicephalous conjoined twins, a rare form of partial twinning with two heads side by side on one torso. The sisters share a bloodstream and all organs below the waist. Abby controls their right arm and leg, while Brittany controls the left side of their body.

Last year, news broke that Abby tied the knot with Bowling in a private ceremony back in November 2021. Bowling is a United States Army veteran.
