While most of the Dancing With the Stars cast is hard at work in rehearsals for season 34, Jenna Johnson and her new partner, Corey Feldman, are off to a slower start.

“I love the show so much, I love being part of it, I’m so grateful to be asked back, and I’m excited for this season. Going off that, so many people have been, like, ‘Where are your TikToks with Corey? What’s happening?’” Johnson, 31, shared via her Instagram Story on Saturday, September 6. “To be completely honest, I actually haven’t seen him since Good Morning America.

According to the pro dancer, Feldman, 54, “had some previous work engagements and personal stuff going on” after the DWTS cast was officially announced on the September 3 episode of GMA.

“So I haven’t seen him since [we were in] New York, and I am eagerly awaiting him getting back so we can get back into the studio to dance and then to do all the content things,” she said. “I’ve been loving all the couples posting. It’s been so fun to see.”

Johnson admitted she’s “a little anxious and eager to get back into the studio” with Feldman before the competition kicks off on September 16. “But I can’t wait,” she added. “It’s always so exciting starting this new season [with] this new family. I am obsessed with all these celebrities so far. They have just been amazing.”

Fans got their first look at the incoming DWTS cast earlier this month as Dylan Efron, Jordan Chiles, Hilaria Baldwin, Baron Davis and more were revealed to be vying for the mirrorball trophy. Since then, plenty of the pros have been giving insight into the rehearsal process via social media.

This season is even more exciting for Johnson, who took home the win with former Bachelor Joey Graziadei last year. She exclusively spoke to Us Weekly after the cast announcement, noting that she didn’t feel any added pressure to nab a back-to-back victory.

“I think every season is new as a clean slate, especially with different partners that you’re given,” she explained. “I am so passionate about giving each partner the best experience possible. This is a different journey. I’m obviously so grateful for last year and the win, but this is new. This is different. My intentions are different, so I’m excited.”

Johnson told Us she wanted to help Feldman “feel the best on the dance floor” that he can. The actor, meanwhile, joked that his presence in the studio might have been underwhelming for the reigning champ.

“I feel like I may have let her down a little bit already,” he teased to Us. “I’m sure when she opened the door [she] was like, ‘Oh God, what do I have to deal with?’”

Jokes aside, Feldman said he’s “grateful” to have an “eloquent” partner like Johnson. “I’ve been dancing my whole life professionally, but [in a] totally different style of dancing,” he added. “In all those situations, like, the choreographers were there to work around what I do. They were there to kind of work with me and let me lead, so for me to take the back seat and turn it over and say, ‘It’s all you, show me. Lead me,’ I’m excited.”

Dancing With the Stars premieres on ABC and Disney+ Tuesday, September 16, at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
