Alicia Walker intends to spend her first Mother’s Day as a mum overlooking the city from the rooftop of her Brunswick apartment with newborn baby Heath in her arms.

In Victoria, more than 21,000 babies have been born so far this year, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Walker intends to eat cake and drink coffee alongside her husband Tom and extended family, including her own mum, Jenni, while they officially celebrate Heath’s birth.
“Heath is my mum’s first grandchild, so she’s over the moon,” Walker says.
