Andrew Garfield and Dr. Kate Tomas have parted ways.
Tomas confirmed the breakup news after a fan inquired about their relationship status in the comments section of her Friday, October 11, Instagram post. “We broke up months ago but I’m sure he will be happy to know that he is loved 🥰❤️,” she wrote.
In the same post, a separate user asked Tomas if she will “ever stop talking” about Garfield, 41, because “he has never” spoken about her. She replied, “Sweetheart, the only people who ever talk about or center a man in my life, work, business and social media are women like you 😂.”
Garfield has yet to comment on the split.
Tomas and Garfield were initially spotted earlier this year on a double date with Phoebe Bridgers and Bo Burnham, per photos obtained by Us Weekly. The couples were dining at a restaurant in Los Angeles.
Days after their first outing, a source exclusively told Us that “things are fairly new” between Tomas and Garfield, but “she’s down to earth and he feels very comfortable with her.”
“Andrew really appreciates the fact that Kate is very different from other women he’s dated,” the insider shared at the time. “He thinks she has a great sense of humor and she’s easy to talk to.”
Tomas, who’s a self-described “professional witch,” subsequently denied the rumors that she used magic to form a relationship with Garfield. (Tomas has worked as a “spiritual mentor” for many individuals worldwide and teaches a seduction master class.)
Tomas explained on her podcast, “The Friday Emails,” that she stopped offering the classes after “horrific accusations that were leveled at me that I’d used magic to seduce my partner.”
While speaking about the pair’s romance in a July interview with The Sunday Times, Tomas said, “It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man. I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”
Tomas noted that seduction is “not about the magic spells or manipulation.” She added, “It has got nothing to do with how perfect their teeth are — thank you, Reddit — or whether they conform to conventional standards of beauty. People that are really attractive are full of charisma because they are authentically themselves and confidently anchored in that.”
She continued, “Magic takes time. It can’t happen overnight.”
According to Tomas, one of the more difficult parts about dating an actor in the public eye is dealing with the paparazzi. “They will take maybe 150 pictures, then they choose the four where you look worst,” she said, but added, “The most powerful form of psychic protection is knowing who you are and being OK with that.”
Garfield, for his part, previously dated Emma Stone for three years before their separation in 2015. He’s also been linked to Susie Abromeit, Rita Ora, Aisling Bea, Christine Gabel, Olivia Brower and Alyssa Miller.
