Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was a big talking point coming out of Team USA’s 91-48 win over Puerto Rico in the 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifying round on Thursday.

Reese recorded a double-double, putting up 10 points and 13 rebounds along with two assists and a steal in 16:24 of playing time, but she was also called out on social media for her behavior toward Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.

Reese seemingly refused to pass the ball to Clark, who logged eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in 18:37, resulting in several people ripping her on X for her cold disposition toward Clark.

But that wasn’t the only reason why people were talking about Reese on Friday.

Her mom, Angel Webb Reese, made headlines the previous night for criticizing the FIBA officials after Reese accumulated four fouls and was one foul away from being ejected from the game (FIBA rules state five fouls lead to an ejection).

“These FIBA refs 🤨,” she tweeted during the game.

However, Webb Reese’s angst didn’t seem to last too long. Seconds after the U.S. pulled out the 43-point win, she tweeted again, flexing on her daughter’s dominant performance.

“2 Down 3 more to go 💪🏾,” Webb Reese posted.

Team USA, which is 2-0 in the qualifying round, has already made the FIBA World Cup tournament. The Americans have three more games left before the tournament starts against Italy (March 14), New Zealand (March 15), and Spain (March 17).
