Most of Angelina Jolie’s six children frequently hit the red carpet with their movie star mom — except one.
Knox Jolie-Pitt, 16, made a rare appearance with the Girl, Interrupted actress, 49, at the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday, November 17. The awards ceremony — which was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California — marked the first time the 16-year-old, who looks nearly identical to his mom, accompanied Jolie to a public event in three years. The last red carpet the mother-son duo attended together was the London premiere of Eternals in October 2021.
The Academy Award winner had her arm wrapped around her son while posing for photographers. The twosome dressed to the nines for the annual awards ceremony, which honors lifetime achievement in the film industry. Jolie donned a long cream and gold colored dress, which she accessorized with a chunky necklace and earrings adorned with diamonds. Knox, who sported a buzzed haircut, opted for a timeless black suit with a white button-down combo and a black bow tie.
The Salt actress and her youngest son were in good company with other A-listers for the evening, as a few of the attendees included Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, Tom Hanks, Andrew Garfield, and Selena Gomez.
The Mr. & Mrs. Smith star shares her six kids — Maddox, 23, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 16 — with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60.
In September, Jolie’s three eldest children, Maddox, Pax, and Zahara, accompanied her to a screening of her new biographical film Maria at the 62nd New York Film Festival in Manhattan. Earlier that month, Pax made a red carpet appearance with his mom at the Toronto International Film Festival for the film premiere of Without Blood (a movie Jolie wrote, co-produced, and directed). Jolie also produced the Broadway musical The Outsiders, on which Vivienne worked as an assistant, and the pair attended the New York premiere in April.
The mom of six is close with her children, so much so that she even has matching ink with some of her kiddos.
“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders,” Jolie told CR Fashion Book in September. “It means so much to us separately and together. There is also a bird that I share with some of my children that is personal to us.”
