Ariana Grande got very emotional during a performance in Los Angeles.

“Thank you so much, oh, my God. L.A., thank you so much,” Grande, 32, said in footage from the second of four performances at Crypto.com Arena for her Eternal Sunshine Tour. “Are you kidding? What the hell? I’ve never in my life experienced a crowd like this.”

Grande wiped away tears while being met with applause during her show on Sunday, June 14.

“This is so overwhelming in the most beautiful way ever,” she continued. “Thank you so much for being so loving. Holy moly. I said holy moly, but I meant it, you know.”

Grande expressed gratitude to those supporting her in the crowd, adding, “This means so much to me. You guys are so amazing. I love you so much and I always have. You can’t do this to me, you know what I mean, because you know what’s going to happen. You know, I’m a Cancer. This is going to happen.”

After making her return to the stage, Grande thanked her fans for “always being such a loving, safe presence in my life” and being there “throughout all these chapters and all of these years.” The Eternal Sunshine Tour is Grande’s first since 2019 after she spent time filming the Wicked franchise.

“I just have so much gratitude,” she added. “And wow. Holy s***. Holy f***. Thank you.”

She concluded: “I also have to say this is my first time touring wearing contact lenses. It’s so nice to see you for the first time in my life and to be able to connect. It’s so powerful. This is a very overwhelming night.”

Sunday’s emotional performance came shortly after Grande’s split from boyfriend Ethan Slater made headlines.

“It’s amicable. They gave lots of time and careful consideration and decided to go their separate ways,” a source told Us Weekly earlier this month. “They are still friends and very supportive of one another. They have been quietly broken up for several months.”

The pair originally met on the set of Wicked in 2022. Following the highly publicized press tours for both films, Grande and Slater, 34, largely laid low.

“After their press tour [for Wicked: For Good] died down, they had been spending more time apart than usual,” an insider told Us. “They both agreed they wanted different things and had been working through what the future holds together. … They both care about each other and hoped things would work out.”

Despite their split, Slater appeared to support Grande as she kicked off her tour by “liking” her Instagram recap of her first performance. “I love you all more than words can ever possibly say. And I missed you,” she wrote in the caption.
