At least 12 people were sent to hospitals after a shooting broke out Sunday night at a party near Arcadia Lake, just north of Oklahoma City, authorities said.
Edmond police said shots were reported around 9 p.m. at a gathering of young people near the lake, a popular recreational spot in the Oklahoma City metro area. No arrests had been made late Sunday as police fanned out across the region to interview victims and witnesses. Hospital officials said those injured were in various conditions and were still being assessed overnight.
“This is obviously a very terrifying situation and we understand the concern from the public and those involved and we are working extremely hard to find the suspects,” Edmond police spokesperson Emily Ward said.
“We’re kind of all over the metro speaking with victims and witnesses,” she added.
