The 2024-25 Champions League semifinals continue on Wednesday with an intriguing matchup between Inter Milan and Barcelona.
Barca won Spain’s Copa del Rey over the weekend and also took home the Supercopa trophy earlier this year, giving it a chance at a quadruple if it can win the Champions League and La Liga.
Inter Milan has also been impressive both domestically and in Europe this year. Inter are three points Napoli in the Serie A table, but they reached the Champions League semifinals with a 6-1-1 record in the league phase round, followed by wins over Feyenoord (4-1 on aggregate in the round of 16) and Bayern Munich (4-3 on aggregate in the quarterfinals).
Today’s match kicks off at 3 p.m. at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona.

Inter Milan vs. Barcelona Betting Analysis
Barcelona entered the semifinals as the co-favorites, alongside PSG (which won Leg 1 of its semifinal battle with Arsenal on Tuesday), to win the Champions League, but they have a tough matchup vs. Inter Milan in the semifinals.
Manager Simone Inzaghi led Inter to an appearance in the Champions League final in 2022-23, and Inter also won Serie A in 2023-24.
Inter’s top scorer in the Champions League has been Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez. He missed one of his team’s round of 16 legs vs. Feyenoord, but he has scored in the last five UCL games he played in, including a hat trick in the 3-0 league phase win over Monaco on January 29.
Inzaghi’s team reached the ’23 final thanks to a stingy back line that recorded shutouts in five of six knockout matches in the round of 16, quarterfinals and semifs, but this year’s team leaned on Martinez and Marcus Thuram to survive Bayern Munich in the quarters, with a 2-1 win Leg 1 in of the quarters and a 2-2 draw in the return leg.
Barca have been dominant in both La Liga and the Champions League this year. In four UCL knockout matches against Benfica in the round of 16 and Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals, Barcelona outscored those teams 9-4 over 360 minutes, with three of the goals it allowed coming in Leg 2 vs. Dortmund following a 4-0 Leg 1 win.
Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski have combined for 23 Champions League goals this year to lead the Catalans. Led by Raphinha (7 assists), 12 players have recorded at least one assist in UCL play, and Barcelona’s 27 assists in 12 Champions League matches underscore how balanced and deep this roster is.
Inter, by comparison, has had eight players combine to tally 11 assists in the same number of UCL contests.
Barca has plenty of work left to do to win the Champions League for the first time since 2015, but under first-year manager Hansi Flick, the incredible core of young Spanish stars Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Pau Cubarsi and Alejandro Balde looks poised to make one deep Champions League run after another over the years to come.
Inter Milan vs. Barcelona Lineup, Injury News
Barcelona will be without Lewandowski, Balde and Marc Casado, while Inter Milan enter this match healthy. Ferran Torres is expected to start at striker in place of Lewandowski, while Gerard Martin will fill in for Balde at left back.
Best Inter Milan vs. Barcelona Props, ATS Bets
Barcelona are riding high after beating Real Madrid in the Copa final last weekend.
Inter, on the other hand, are on a three-game losing streak after falling to Bologna and Roma in Serie A and AC Milan in the Coppa Italia semifinals in the last two weeks. Inter failed to score in all three of those matches.
But I expect Inter — whose lineup features eight players who started in the 2023 Champions League final — to make life difficult for Barcelona today, with a 1-0 or 0-0 result feeling like a strong possibility thanks to Inter’s excellent defense.
