As the only player in Big Brother history to play the game four times, few can claim to have a better feel for how it works than Janelle Pierzina — so fans should take notice when she says that the oft-criticized Kelley Jorgensen has impressed her during Big Brother 27.

“She seems to be pretty fast on her feet with competitions,” Janelle, 45, explained to Us Weekly exclusively while discussing her partnership with GamblingSites.com. “I think we’re seeing the very beginning of Kelley. As long as she lasts a little bit longer, I think she could be a very good comp beast.”

Janelle has a point. Kelley, 29, has caught the ire of fans for consistently volunteering to be nominated for eviction, but she’s been able to survive each week.

The first week, she won the Big Brother Block Buster competition to earn her safety on eviction night. The next week, she used a mystery veto power that she won during a previous competition to win her safety. Then, she won another Block Buster in week 3 before surviving an eviction vote in week 4.

“She does very well under pressure, and that’s one of the biggest things with competing,” Janelle continued. “A lot of people can be like, ‘I’m so strong and I’m so smart.’ But it’s not about that. It’s about how you perform under pressure when you’re on television. It’s all nerves, and she’s good.”

Janelle and her Sovereign Six alliance were fan favorites on her first season, Big Brother 6, and she promptly returned the next year for the first Big Brother All-Stars. She placed third both seasons and played the game again in Big Brother 14 and Big Brother 22. Though she never took home a win, Janelle is one of the most well-known players in the series’ history.

So is Rachel Reilly, who won Big Brother 13 and is competing again this season. Janelle never played on a season with Rachel, 40, but the two know each other, and Janelle is happy that she got another opportunity to play.

“I just know how much it means to her to be asked to come back,” Janelle said. “She didn’t have that opportunity for the last All-Stars that we did [Big Brother 22], and she was absolutely devastated about that because that was her dream to come back again and have another shot.”

This season, Rachel is a veteran competing against newbies who, as Janelle said, are “learning as they go.” She thinks Rachel is playing a good game despite coming into the house with a big target on her back, but she also cautioned that another player she’s been impressed with, Vince Panaro, could be targeting her.

“I thought Vince was doing a very good job of getting people to trust him, getting in alliances,” she said. “People [are] literally ready to die for him in that game. So he was someone that I thought could be an early winner, but I don’t know what will happen this week.”

Vince, 34, is nominated for eviction this week and could go home if he can’t find a way off the chopping block.

Big Brother airs on CBS on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. Fans can watch live feeds from the house anytime on Paramount+.
