K-pop fans, rejoice: Netflix has just announced that it will be globally live-streaming the climactic comeback of world phenomenon boy band BTS.

For the first time in nearly four years, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook reunite on stage in Seoul to perform songs off their upcoming album ARIRANG, in addition to other classic hits.

But that’s not all: one week after the live show, Netflix exclusively debuts the documentary BTS: THE RETURN, chronicling the making of ARIRANG.

What Time Is ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE’ Taking Place?

The concert takes place at 4 a.m. PST/7 a.m. EST. That’s pretty early for U.S. viewers, yes, but that’s due to the time difference with South Korea. There, the concert starts at 8 p.m. KST.

After the live concert, the band will set off on their ARIRANG World Tour, which will consist of 82 shows taking place in 34 countries.

Why Did BTS Take a Hiatus?

BTS went on hiatus back in December 2022 due to South Korea’s mandatory military service requirements for young men. Thus, the successful music career of the group was put on hold so that each member could fulfill their duty of 18 months of mandatory service. Their services were staggered, and so some members released solo work while others served. Jin and j-hope were discharged in 2024, while Jung Kook, Jimin, RM, V and SUGA were discharged the following summer.

Directed by Bao Nguyen, this feature-length documentary serves as a companion piece to BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE by exploring the highly anticipated return of the global icons and the production of their fifth album, ARIRANG. The film will feature exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the group getting the band back together and navigating their return from a four-year hiatus.

BTS has become a worldwide sensation since their debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool in 2013, cultivating a passionate, devoted fan base called BTS ARMY. BTS: THE RETURN follows the band post-military service in a Los Angeles studio, recording their new album and learning how to work together again after such a lengthy time apart and having experienced profound personal change. Together, BTS rediscovers themselves as pop icons through their artistic collaboration, in this intimate documentary that takes a look at their perspectives on the past while shaping how they will grow together as artists for the future.
