As it turns out, Sophie Cunningham isn’t the only Indiana Fever player to end up on the bad side of the WNBA league office.

Though she hasn’t played a game since July 15 due to a groin injury, that hasn’t stopped star guard Caitlin Clark from supporting her teammates from the sidelines.

Clark has gone viral several times for her wild antics while serving as an extra coach on the bench during Fever games while she’s been on the team’s injured list, and Thursday night was no different.

The sixth-seeded Fever, who were shorthanded due to season-ending injuries to Clark, Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson, and Chloe Bibby, pulled off a thrilling 87-85 come-from-behind win over the third-seeded Atlanta Dream to advance to the semifinal round of the playoffs for the first time since 2015, which had Clark fired up.

That win was set up by a dominant 77-60 victory in Game 2 just two days prior, and one of the key moments from that game came in the finals seconds of the third quarter when Lexie Hull nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give Indiana a 15-point lead heading into the final quarter.

The Fever posted a series of photos plus a video of the viral moment on their Instagram account, which drew two comments from Clark.

The first read “Elite bench mob,” followed by a more snarky “Refs couldn’t stop us” jab. Clark revealed on Saturday that the one in which she mocked the refs earned her a fine from the league office.

“Got fined $200 for this lol😂😂😂😂😂BENCH MOB WILL BE EVEN MORE ROWDY TOMORROW LETS GOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! @IndianaFever,” Clark wrote on X.

Clark’s fine comes as little surprise given how many times Cunningham was fined during the season for also throwing shade at the refs.

The 28-year-old guard was fined on three separate occasions for being critical of the league officials.

She was hit with a $500 fine in July for throwing shade at the refs in a TikTok video, then again for $1,500 in early August for calling out the officials for being inconsistent in their foul calling.

Cunningham was also fined an undisclosed amount in late August for claiming the refs showed favoritism to WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers.
