Calvin Harris is officially a dad after his wife, Vick Hope, gave birth to a baby boy.
“20th of July our boy arrived,” Harris, 41, wrote via Instagram on Monday, August 4. “Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah ❤️❤️❤️.”
While announcing the arrival of his son, Harris shared a photo of the newborn resting on his shoulders.
In addition, the DJ shared photos of Hope, 35, in a water birth tank, along with an image of what appeared to be Hope’s placenta.
Harris proceeded to share an image of portions of the placenta being put in a food dehydrator, as well as a jar of supplements.
“Love to see the placenta!!” singer Becky Hill wrote in the comments section. “Amazing we grow a whole new organ to provide life! Good job not wasting it either, that’s some goddess magic right there!”
According to the Mayo Clinic, eating the placenta after giving birth can be harmful for moms and their babies. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has also issued a warning against taking placenta capsules.
Some people, however, believe that eating the placenta can prevent postpartum depression.
Since becoming a dad, Harris has already returned to work. In August, the man behind “Summer” and “This Is What You Came For” performed at the outdoor club Ushuaïa Ibiza in Spain. He will perform closer to home in October at the Rise Festival in Las Vegas.
Although Harris may be a world-famous musician, he tries to keep his personal life out of the spotlight.
Harris and Hope reportedly exchanged vows in northeast England in September 2023. Before then, Hope said she wasn’t planning on sharing any wedding details.
“I was very overwhelmed by the interest in it, but I’m keeping my private life private,” the British TV presenter told Hello! in 2022. “I’ve never really experienced this before about my private life, but it’s just for us.”
Before meeting Hope, Harris dated Taylor Swift for nearly a year until their breakup in the summer of 2016.
In a rare interview, Hope revealed that she has been known to listen to the “Shake It Off” singer from time to time.
“Soon as my husband goes away, I listen to Taylor Swift,” Hope said during an April 2024 episode of the “Going Home With Vick, Katie and Jamie” radio show. “That’s just when I get … just a little fill. Just a couple of songs, get it out of my system. Then it’s done.”
