Catholic activist Carrie Prejean Boller has been given a Catholic award following her removal from President Donald Trump’s Religious Liberty Commission.
Boller, a model turned conservative activist, was ousted from the commission last month after a hearing on antisemitism descended into chaos. The commission’s chair Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said Boller “hijacked” the hearing for her “own personal and political agenda.”
On Thursday, the advocacy group Catholics for Catholics awarded Boller a Catholic Champion Award “in recognition of her courageous defense of the Faith,” the organization’s president John Yep said.
The award was given at a Catholics for Catholics event called “Catholic Prayer for America Gala” in Washington D.C. The organization is not part of the Catholic Church.
This is a developing story. More to follow.
