After surviving a wild Round of 16 test, Chelsea is the clear betting favorite in tonight’s Club World Cup quarterfinal battle with Brazilian Serie A club Palmeiras.

Chelsea is coming off a 4-1 win over Benfica in extra time last Saturday, while Palmeiras took down domestic rival Botafogo 1-0 in the Round of 16 to reach the quarterfinals.

While Chelsea has an undeniable advantage in star power, the Brazilian side has plenty of talent of its own.

In addition to veteran midfielder Richard Rios — who helped Colombia nearly upset Argentina in last year’s Copa America final — Palmeiras features two talented weapons up top: 20-year-old former Barcelona striker Vitor Roque and 18-year-old Chelsea signee Estêvão.

All eyes will be on the latter tonight, as the Club World Cup is his final tournament with Palmeiras before he begins his Chelsea career (the club signed him last summer, but he remained at Palmeiras on loan in 2024-25).

Chelsea vs. Palmeiras Betting Analysis, Best Bets

It’s hard to see Chelsea losing this game, but there’s good reason to believe that goals will be hard to come by for both of these teams.

Palmeiras won its round of 16 matchup vs. Botafogo in extra time after a 0-0 battle through 90 minutes. Chelsea nearly shut out Benfica, but surrendered a PK that Angel Di Maria converted for the equalizer deep in stoppage time.

Given that Chelsea have shut out two of their four opponents in this competition and nearly recorded a third clean sheet vs. Benfica, this should be another low-scoring match, with Chelsea controlling possession.

Palmeiras have been stout in their own right, shutting out Porto, Al Ahly and Botafogo in this competition.

There are a couple of ways to cash in if this game ends up being as low-scoring as it promises to be based on how these teams have played so far.

Our favorite is Halftime Draw (available at +105 at DK, FD and bet365), which is tempting in what should be a close, hard-fought match for at least the opening 45 minutes.

Another solid bet is Chelsea to win in 90 minutes, especially at plus-money over at DraftKings.

Chelsea vs. Palmeiras Club World Cup Quarterfinal Best Bets

  • Halftime Draw (+105 available at DK, FD, bet365) — 0.5 units
  • Three-Way Moneyline: Chelsea (+105 at DK) — 0.5 units
