Christina Haack has strong feelings about the brief window where she and now-ex Josh Hall worked together on HGTV projects.

“When someone [feels] insecure by you and doesn’t like to see you win, that really puts a damper on everything,” Haack, 41, alleged in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I feel, like, I was not shining as bright to try and not make him feel emasculated, but who wants to live like that?”

Haack and Hall, 43, both filed for divorce in July. The Christina on the Coast star filed her petition first, citing their date of separation as July 7. Hall, meanwhile, claimed that they separated one day later.

At the time of their split, Haack and Hall recently started filming The Flip Off alongside her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his new wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.

“It was not fun, to be honest. I did not enjoy filming with him,” Haack told ET. “So, having split up made this so much easier and so much better in every way. The show would have been hard to film.”

Us Weekly confirmed this summer that Hall would be cut from The Flip Off, in which the two couples were set to compete in rival home flips. Now, Hall will face off solo against Tarek, 43, and Heather, 37.

While speaking with ET, Haack speculated that Hall would have been jealous of her on-camera friendship with Tarek.

“[He] doesn’t like our dynamic because Tarek and I have our own dynamic. Some could call it ‘flirty,’” Haack said. “It’s more, like, a sibling-type thing.”

According to Haack, her filming experience got much “better” in the weeks after Hall left the show. (He has not publicly addressed her recent claims or discussed the show at all.)

“I’d been telling him that things were bad for at least a year,” Haack added. “It wasn’t news to him.”

Haack was married to Hall for three years ahead of their ongoing divorce. She was previously married to Tarek — with whom she shares daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 7 — and Ant Anstead — with whom she shares son Hudson, 4 — respectively.

Both Tarek and Heather, who welcomed son Tristan in 2023, enjoyed working with Haack on The Flip Off. (Tarek and Christina previously helmed HGTV’s Flip or Flop of 10 seasons, wrapping in 2022.)

“Man, I never, ever in my life thought this show would happen,” Tarek exclusively told Us last month. “Sometimes I’m sitting there and I’ll have a moment where I look over at Heather, my wife, and I look over to the other side, and there’s my ex-wife, Christina. And I wonder, ‘How did I get here?’”

Heather, for her part, told Us that filming has “just been fun,” adding, “It’s a fun, creative thing that we’re doing, making fun of all the people that make fun of us.”

The Flip Off premieres on HGTV in January 2025.
