The Dallas Cowboys have been bitten by the injury bug a bit to begin the 2025 NFL season. Most notably, they were forced to play without superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb during their Week 4 tie against the Green Bay Packers.

Lamb, who suffered a high ankle sprain, has been seen often in a walking boot since the injury occurred.

While there is no firm return date for Lamb, he has not been placed on IR. It sounds like the Cowboys expect him back on the field sooner rather than later.

Browns Legend Calls for Team to Make Bold Shedeur Sanders Decision

A new update has been shared about Lamb as Dallas makes its preparations for Week 5 against the New York Jets.

Jon Machota of The Athletic shared a photo of Lamb on Wednesday that showed him out of the walking boot. What that means for his potential return to the field remains to be seen, but it’s an extremely positive sign for the Cowboys.

“Good sign for Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle),” Machota wrote. “No longer wearing the boot and doing rehab work today during practice.”

Despite Lamb not being able to play against the Packers, the Dallas offense performed at a very high level. Dak Prescott put on a show against a Green Bay defense that had been viewed as one of the best in the NFL heading into the matchup.

Prescott threw for 319 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions, while completing 31 of his 40 pass attempts. The Cowboys also picked up 117 yards and two touchdowns on the ground as a team. Putting up 40 points was a head-turning number for a team without its No. 1 wide receiver.

That being said, Dallas will need to get Lamb back on the field as soon as possible to be able to make a run at the playoffs.

Packers Receive Big Update Regarding Future of Offensive Star

Currently, the Cowboys sit at 1-2-1 on the season. It hasn’t been a great start to the year, to say the least. Going up against the Jets will give them a favorable matchup, although the likelihood is that Lamb won’t be on the field for that game.

It’s possible that the injury is healing quicker than expected and he could return soon. But, for now the team needs to remain patient. Lamb’s new update is all good news for a Dallas team that badly needs him back on the field.
