The Dallas Cowboys are showing interest in adding more pass rushing following their decision to trade superstar Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers.

One name that has come up as a possible option is former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. Recently, the Cowboys welcomed Clowney in for a visit, but the two sides did not work out a deal at that point in time.

Clowney seems to be a player that Dallas remains interested in. A new update has now been shared about the two sides and where they stand.

Packers’ Defense Has Made NFL History Through Two Weeks

As shared by Bryan Broaddus of 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys wanted to sign Clowney but he chose to wait for now.

Brian Schottenheimer spoke out about Clowney as well and revealed that he has remained in contact with him.

“Good visit. Talked to him again yesterday,” Schottenheimer said. “This is one of those deals where it’s a business decision. There are two sides that have to come together. It was a great visit. We’ll kind of see how it plays out. When I talked to him yesterday, he was cooking dinner for his kids. Talked to them. His son goes: ‘I don’t know you.’ And I said, ‘Well, you might. You might soon.'”

Signing Clowney would be an intriguing move for Dallas. He has never lived up to the hype that surrounded him when he first came into the NFL, but he has had a solid career.

Last season with the Carolina Panthers, Clowney played in 14 games. He racked up 46 total tackles to go along with 5.5 sacks and four defended passes.

Back in the 2023 campaign with the Baltimore Ravens, he produced bigger numbers. In the 17 games he played for the Ravens, he racked up 43 tackles, 9.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and five defended passes.

Former NFL Star Brutally Rips Into Bears QB Caleb Williams

At 32 years old, Clowney is still more than capable of making an impact. For a team like the Cowboys that needs pass rushing help, he would be well worth signing.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Dallas ends up being able to sign Clowney. The Cowboys are clearly interested in him, but he’ll need to make up his mind in the near future about whether or not he wants to play in Dallas.
