The Dallas Cowboys were on the receiving end of several positive updates with regards to superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb this week, but he won’t be with the team for the third consecutive game Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
The offense has not struggled to put points on the board over the last two contests, even despite Lamb’s absence, in large part due to the MVP-level play of quarterback Dak Prescott to this point in the season. Another primary factor in the Cowboys’ success without Lamb is the presence of George Pickens, who has the talent of a No. 1 wideout in his own right and whom Dallas traded for during the offseason.

However, Lamb can’t do it all. As such, the Cowboys made a move on Saturday to add another pass-catcher to the mix. The team signed Jalen Cropper from the practice squad to the active roster, per NFL.com.
Cropper played in one game for the Cowboys in 2024, which served as his NFL debut. He earned 12 offensive snaps and three snaps on special teams during that outing. He has appeared in two contests this season, playing seven snaps on offense and 14 on special teams. He has returned one punt for eight yards in 2025, but does not yet have a catch in his professional career.
Cropper, who went undrafted in 2023, played his last collegiate season with Fresno State in 2022. He caught 83 passes for 1,086 yards and five touchdowns across 14 games during that campaign. For his college career, Cropper totaled 220 receptions, 2,701 yards and 21 touchdowns.
