Former Vanderbilt Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia is attempting to find his footing at the NFL level after going undrafted over the weekend.
On Sunday, he accepted an invitation to the Baltimore Ravens’ upcoming minicamp this weekend. While it doesn’t guarantee anything beyond that, it does give him a chance to earn a contract heading into training camp or potentially open the door to opportunities elsewhere in the league.
That said, if the NFL doesn’t work out for the Heisman Trophy finalist, the United Football League (UFL) is viewed by many as a possible alternative — and there is also already a Canadian Football League team holding his negotiation rights, according to Pro Football Talk’s .
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers reportedly added him to their negotiation list back in 2024, meaning they would hold exclusive CFL negotiating rights if he were to pursue that route.

While it remains a developing possibility, it underscores how multiple leagues could be in play should Diego Pavia explore opportunities outside the NFL — a path many former players have taken given the Canadian Football League’s long-standing history dating back to the late 1950s.
Pavia’s immediate goal coming out of Ravens minicamp will be to earn a spot on a 90-man roster, whether in Baltimore or elsewhere, that would at least get him into training camp. From there, he would aim to appear in preseason games before teams begin roster cuts ahead of Week 1.
It will be an uphill battle for Pavia regardless of landing spot, as he would likely need to climb into at least a top-three quarterback role on the depth chart to secure a spot on the roster or potentially the practice squad.
