The Los Angeles Dodgers dominated the league en route to a World Series victory in 2024. There were a few hiccups along the way, notably with injuries, but Los Angeles brought home the World Series title at the end of the season.
While the Dodgers were incredible in 2024, their front office has made the most of these off-season months by making multiple blockbuster moves.
Dayn Perry of CBS Sports recently gave the defending World Series champions an “A” grade for their tremendous offseason.
“Rare is the defending World Series champ that’s still in foot-on-gas mode, but the Dodgers, when it comes to actually trying to win baseball games, remain a credit to their guild,” Perry wrote. “Already with a star-stuffed roster and overflowing rotation, the Dodgers brought back Teoscar Hernández, inked Blake Snell to a nine-figure contract, landed Roki Sasaki, and added a pair of lockdown arms to the bullpen in Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates. If any team could justify resting on recent laurels, it’s the Dodgers, but they’re not doing that.”
Out of all the teams in the league, the Dodgers had the least to do this off-season. Still, they used the offseason months to make more moves than anybody else.
They added Blake Snell and Roki Sasaki to the starting rotation. They’ll also return Tyler Glasnow, Dustin May, and Shohei Ohtani to the mound in 2025. All three faced injuries in 2024.
Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates join a loaded Dodgers bullpen that already has Blake Treinen and Evan Phillips at the back end of games.
The Dodgers are the heavy favorites to win the World Series this year, and rightfully so.
