The Los Angeles Dodgers will have a trusted member of their bullpen back next season.

According to Dodgers writer Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, Los Angeles has decided to pick up its $3.55 million club option for left-hander Alex Vesia next season. Vesia has spent the last five seasons with the Dodgers and will now be back for a sixth year.

Vesia has been as consistent as they come in the Los Angeles bullpen, as he’s posted a 2.67 ERA across 295 appearances and 270 innings pitched in his Dodgers career. His best season came in 2024 when he posted a 1.76 ERA with 87 strikeouts across 67 appearances and 66 1/3 innings pitched.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, Vesia had to step away from the team prior to the World Series due to a severe family issue. He was unable to return during the series but still became a two-time World Series champion after Los Angeles captured the championship.

Vesia will be an important part of the Dodgers success when he returns to the mound next season, as he may very well be the most trusted left-handed option out of the bullpen for manager Dave Roberts. He’s certainly proved his trust over the last several seasons and that will likely not change next season.
