A woman has gone viral for her kindness towards animals after she found a dog alone in the countryside for a second time.
TikTok user @takarebear shared a video in February revealing she had once again discovered a dog all on her own in a rural area—and this wasn’t the first time it had happened.
In the clip, which sees the woman call for the dog, who is sprinting towards her down empty country roads, she wrote: “Dumped by her owner in the county twice. This was my second time finding her. She WON’T be going back.”
As the woman calls out joyously, the medium-sized dog runs towards her, instantly recognizing her, and rushes into her arms for the cuddles that soon arrive.
And, as she and the dog are reunited, she writes that the dog “will never be beat, choked, or dumped again.”
The woman explained in the caption that the “poor dog had been through hell.”
“I am so happy that I found her alive. She won’t ever have to endure the crap she went through again,” she wrote, adding in a comment that the first time she found the dog, she brought her to the shelter where her former owner picked her up, but once again was discovered more than 10 miles from her home.
Her video had a big effect on animal lovers, who have watched it close to 1 million times and liked it close to 200,000 times.
One commenter thanked the woman “for finding her and caring,” as another suggested “she ran to you like you’d always been hers.”
And another shared their own story: “I found mine abandoned on the street in Puerto Rico, brought her home to Texas. Best decision ever, she has become one of the best dogs ever.”
In a video update, the woman showed the dog now wearing a collar and comfortably settling into her new forever home, relaxing on a soft, warm pillow.
She wrote that the dog is “doing great.”
“She’s settling in and figuring things out. She had some fans send her some goodies. She got a new bed, bully sticks, knuckle bones, toys, treats, and food. Thank you all so much,” she wrote.
Choosing the right dog bed, which are available to purchase online here, for your pet can be difficult. According to the American Kennel Club, owners should consider a comfortable, warm bed that supports their joints, is easy to clean, and is an appropriate size.
