When Missouri resident Lani got back to the store’s parking lot with her bag of items, she turned to her left and saw something she wasn’t expecting—the “most human”-looking dog she had ever seen.

In a video on TikTok that now has more than 2 million views, Lani, 41, captured a dog sitting in the front seat of her owner’s truck with the most-expressive eyes she had ever seen.

“I was just leaving the store with my bag of items, and I noticed a dog intently staring at me, and I just had to get a video because of her eyes,” Lani told Newsweek. “Her dad did come out and said that she’s a great dog and protect the truck and he doesn’t have to worry about rolling up the windows whenever she is there.”

In the caption, Lani joked: “There’s a human soul in that dog body. I can’t even right now.”

Internet Reacts

Earlier this year, people rushed to AI to see what their dog would look like as a human, while, elsewhere, canines just like the one in Lani’s video captured attention for their almost-human eyes. As the clip gained more attention, people couldn’t help but share their thoughts in the comments.

“She has Aubrey Plaza’s voice. Idc [I don’t care] what anyone says,” posted one commenter.

Another TikTok user wrote: “I want so badly for the window to roll up.”

“So glad I’m not the only one that talks to stranger’s pets,” said a third. “This dog have a better posture than me,” wrote a fourth viewer.

“I’m a pet sitter and an animal lover and I just saw the human soul in this dog and I had to share with others! My initial reaction was exactly how my voice sounds—my heart was captivated with those eyes,” Lani said.

She was amazed by the reaction online and delighted so many other people enjoyed seeing the expressive pup.

“I’m actually kind of shocked about the reaction,” Lani said. “I don’t get a lot of views on my videos, so it’s a shock to have a 2-million-viewed video and thousands and thousands and thousands of comments from people, commenting on what they think she is saying to me and it is just cracking me up.”

Lani has tried to find the owner on the local Facebook group page to let him know how popular the pup has become online, but so far hasn’t had any success.

“I forgot to ask her what her name was, and it bums me out, but a guy don’t want to tell her dad how famous she is now,” Lani said.
