Parton, 79, has released a new song with popular Australian children’s entertainers The Wiggles. She posted the music video for their new song, entitled “Friends!” on her Instagram Reels on Monday, February 24.
“When times are hard we can make it fun, and you know that two is always better than one! ❤️ Listen to @thewiggles ‘Friends!’ (feat. Dolly Parton) and ‘Counting 1 to 5′ at the link in bio!” wrote the “9 to 5” singer in the caption. The video features The Wiggles’ signature bright color scheme combined with Parton’s country aesthetic.
Fans of the “Jolene” singer quickly commented on the Reel, sharing for the enthusiasm for the catchy tune.
“Omgosh! What a collab,” wrote one fan. Another joked that this was a turning point in the Wiggles’ musical career, writing, “You know you’ve made it when you’ve got Dolly on your collab list 💕💕💕☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶.”
The other song Parton mentioned in her Instagram caption was “1 to 5,” a parody of her famous song “9 to 5,” that the band recorded.
Several members of The Wiggles commented on Parton’s post. Wiggles member Lucia wrote, “we love you Dolly!! what an honour 🥹💙,” while fellow Wiggle Lachy commented with several purple heart Emojis. “💜💜💜💜”
